DUTY TAX PROCESSING
DHL Express will accelerate the customs clearance process making prompt payment of duty and tax charges relating to a shipment, while the receiver defers payment until an agreed date.
NEUTRAL DELIVERY
Delivery of a dutiable consignment of goods without a commercial/proforma invoice to the consignee.
RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS
Customers shipping to a home or private residence can activate specific delivery options by designating the delivery address as residential. For such shipments, DHL Express will proactively notify the receiver via email or SMS about the shipment's progress. Receivers can then select the most suitable delivery option via On Demand Delivery.
DIRECT SIGNATURE
If you are sending sensitive documents or high value contents you can request DHL to obtain a direct signature from the consignee or a representative at the delivery address. DHL will ensure your shipment is not re-directed, or delivered at an alternative address.
SIGNATURE RELEASE
Delivery takes place on the instructions of the sender or also the recipient - possible via our On Demand Delivery Service - without a signature to a previously determined drop-off location (e.g. in the case of letterbox drop-off).
VISUAL AGE CHECK
At customer's request, DHL Express will obtain a delivery signature from an adult at the stipulated delivery address. DHL Express may request the recipient to show a personal document bearing photograph and date of birth.
BIO PHYTO AND VETERINARY CONTROLS
Arrangement of bio-, phyto- and veterinary controls and creating customs relevant paperwork to meet legal requirements.
BONDED STORAGE
Storage of goods in the bonded warehouse at the request of the customer or due to a delay in customs clearance not caused by DHL Express (e.g. due to missing/insufficient customs documents or customs data). Storage fees will accure from the third calendar day and is invoiced to the payer of the duties and taxes.
POST-CLEARANCE MODIFICATION
Post-clearance modification of e.g. value, positions or origin country.
BONDED TRANSIT
Creation of a T1 transit procedure for the duty-free forwarding of goods to the consignee authorised by the customs authority under customs supervision. Creation of customs documents (e.g. T1) in the country of departure to enable transport under customs supervision from a free trade zone/customs warehouse.
CHANGE OF BILLING
This applies when a customer requests a change of defined billing information on an already issued invoice, which will result in a reissuing of the invoice and, in case of an account change, crediting of the old account and debiting of the new.
BROKER NOTIFICATION
On request of the recipient, DHL Express transfers the data and documents for self-clearance/broker who processes the customs clearance. After customs clearance and confirmation by the broker, the shipment is delivered to the recipient by DHL Express.
MULTI-LINE ENTRY CLEARANCE
When processing your customs application, five different commodity tariff numbers or countries of origin are included in the DHL Express shipment price. For each additional position, a fee will be charged for the individual clearance.
PHYSICAL INTERVENTION
If a consignment is subject to extensive checks by the customs authorities, the Physical Intervention service includes the complete or partial unloading of a vehicle, the marking and/or invalidation of samples or the examination of the contents of the consignment.
RETURNED GOODS
Duty-free customs clearance of returned goods.
PERSONAL EFFECTS
The handling by DHL of a shipment / piece containing the customer's personal belongings or goods for consulates/embassies.
EXPORT DECLARATION
Preparation / procurement of the necessary export documents in the country of departure.
CLEARENCE PROCESSING
Applies In selected countries where additional cost is incurred for importing shipments in alignment with government agency requirements.
NON-ROUTINE ENTRY
Applies when shipments are subject to non-routine clearance procedures, due to their value, weight and/or commodity as defined by destination Customs Authorities. May also apply in selected countries where DHL Express is legally obliged to outsource formal clearance entries to a licensed third party broker.
PERMITS AND LICENSES
To accelerate import of selected controlled commodities, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, computer monitors, laser CD players, cosmetics, eyeglasses, food and food products, DHL Express is required to file specific information in order to obtain the required import permits or licenses.
